Pastinaken

Wenn ich den Klang ihres Namens nicht so fies finden würde, hätte ich Pastinaken bestimmt schon früher mal gekauft. Der Klang ist eine Mischung aus Paste und Schnaken. Aber sie schmecken ganz gut, mußte ich feststellen.
If I did not find the sound of the name so nasty, I certainly would have bought parsnips earlier times. The  onomatopoeia of the german word "Pastinaken" is hard to translate. The sound in german is a mixture of "paste" and "gnats". In english  "pars" and "nips" is something complete different.
Anyway I had to find out that they taste pretty good.
