Gelbe Pflaumen
Heute wieder zurück zur Feinarbeit. Das sind übrigens gelbe Pflaumen. Sie waren auch gelb als ich sie gekauft habe, haben sich aber inzwischen so verfärbt.

Espresso
Die "ein Strich pro Farbe" Challenge auf "Daily Paintwork" diese Woche. Mit einem breiten Pinsel immer nur einen Farbstrich auftragen, dann einen neuen Farbton anmischen. Da ich ja sonst meistens mit sehr feinen Pinseln arbeite, eine Herausforderung. Und doch noch wieder zu sehr ins Detail gegangen.
The "One Color per Stroke Challenge" on "Daily Paintwork" this week. Apply with a broad brush only one stroke per colour , then mix a new color make a another stroke, etc.. I usually work with very fine brushes, so this was a real challenge for me. And yet again going too much into detail.

Jetzt aber! Nachdem sich herausgestellt hatte, dass der Nachtfalter vor zwei Wochen doch kein Zeichen des Winterendes war, nun ein neuer Versuch. Ich hoffe, dass die Sprosse, die ich heute im Garten entdeckt habe, das Ende des Winters ankündigt und der Frühling nicht mehr fern ist. Ein neue Lebenszyklus hat auf jeden Fall begonnen

Wir bleiben beim Thema Hafen. Aber diesmal nicht Bremen sondern Hamburg. Auf dem Weg zu einer Ausstellungsbesprechung bin ich heute an der Kölbrandbrücke vorbei gekommen. Immer wieder ein imposanter Anblick.

Container
Ein weiteres Bild aus dem Bremer Hafen. Ich liebe diese Container Türme mit ihren vielen Farben. Und jedesmal frage ich mich wo die wohl herkommen oder hingehen und was da drin ist. Die halbe Welt wird damit transportiert.

Roland Mühle
Der Laden, wo ich mein Zeichenbedarf kaufe, liegt im Hafengebiet von Bremen. Auf dem Weg dahin komme ich immer an der Roland Mühle vorbei. Und jedesmal frage ich mich, ob diese riesigen Zylinder wohl bis zum Rand mit Mehl gefüllt sind.

Eine neue Challenge auf Daily Paintworks. Diese Woche wurde sie von Michael Naples gestellt. Die Aufgabe: nur mit den Farben Ultramarin, Burned Sienna und Titan Weiß das vorgegeben Bild zu malen. Schöne Erfahrung was man mit nur drei Farben schaffen kann.

Worpsweder Mühle
Heute war ein kalter Tag, aber immerhin schien die Sonne. So gibt es heute ein Bild von Draußen, die Worpsweder Mühle im Wintersonnenlicht.

Pastinaken
Wenn ich den Klang ihres Namens nicht so fies finden würde, hätte ich Pastinaken bestimmt schon früher mal gekauft. Der Klang ist eine Mischung aus Paste und Schnaken. Aber sie schmecken ganz gut, mußte ich feststellen.
If I did not find the sound of the name so nasty, I certainly would have bought parsnips earlier times. The onomatopoeia of the german word "Pastinaken" is hard to translate. The sound in german is a mixture of "paste" and "gnats". In english "pars" and "nips" is something complete different.
Anyway I had to find out that they taste pretty good.

Heute gab es im Supermarkt diese Ananas für 1 Euro. Das kann nicht nicht okay sein, da müssen die Bauern in Costa Rica ja noch Geld mitbringen, um sie zu verkaufen. ( Und ja, ich habe auch eine gekauft.)
Today in the supermarket they had these pineapple for only 1 Euro. This can´t be okay, to make this, the farmers in Costa Rica still have to bring money to sell it. ( And yes, I bought one too.)

Nein ich war heute nicht am Schwarzen Meer. Jedenfalls nicht in echt. Das ist mein Betrag zum Blog "The Virtual Paintout". Die Aufgabe, per Google Streetview durch ein Land oder eine Stadt reisen, dort ein Motiv finden und es malen. Jeden Monat gibt es ein neues Land als Vorgabe. Im Februar ist es Rumänien. Ich bin ans Schwarze Meer "gereist".

Hamme II
Heute noch mal die Hamme mit Hochwasser, den Blick diesmal in Richtung Weyerberg. Bei Hochwasser hat die Hamme sogar Strömung. Im Sommer bewegt sie sich fast gar nicht.
Today once again the river Hamme with high water, this time the view towards the hill Weyerberg. At high tide the Hamme has even flow. In summer it moved almost not at all.

Pinsel II
Pinsel, man kann nie genug davon haben. Diese sind alle unbenutzt. Und irgendwie wird das Glas nie leerer, da ich mehr nachkaufe als ich benutze. Es ist einfach schön sie zu haben.
Brush, you can never have enough of them. These are all unused. And somehow, the glass is never empty, as I buy more than I use. It's just nice to have them.

Wümmewiesen
Morgendämmerung an den Wümmewiesen. Das Wasser steht hier noch höher und reicht schon bis an die Straße. Noch ein paar Tage Regen und sie muß wieder gesperrt werden, wie jedes Jahr um diese Zeit.

Nachtfalter
Später Besuch gestern Abend. Mehrer Nachtfalter kamen gestern Abend, angelockt durch das Licht in meinem Atelier, durch das geöffnete Fenster. Ich hoffe das ist ein Zeichen, dass der Winter sich dem Ende neigt. ( Ich habe nicht genau herausgefunden zu welcher Gattung dieser gehört, könnte zur Familie der Zahnspinner gehören)
Late visitors yesterday evening. Several moths came yesterday evening, attracted by the light in my studio, through the open window. I hope this is a sign that winter is coming to an end. (I have not figured out exactly to what class this one belongs to, could belong to the family of Notodontidae.)

Heute hat sich nach drei Tagen Regen mal wieder kurz die Sonne gezeigt. Die Hamme fährt jetzt Hochwasser und die Wiesen drum herum sind überschwemmt. Ein toller Anblick.
